Dependency-syntactic Descriptions
For the last two years I've worked in collaboration with FL Pasi
Tapanainen in Research Unit for Multilingual Language Technology at
the University of Helsinki. Currently, I am doing surface-syntactic
description of English. The theoretical framework is largerly the
original dependency theory by Lucien Tesnière (1959).
Constraint Grammar syntax
Constraint Grammar is a framework for parsing that was originally
proposed by Fred Karlsson. During 1993-5, I was hired to a Bank of
English project to conduct the annotation of a 200 million word corpus
of running text.
Studies:
Currently, I'm studying in a Graduate School "Linguistic Meaning and its
Processing", or in Finnish:
'Kielellinen merkitys ja sen prosessointi' at University of
Helsinki doing my Ph.D. on dependency syntactic descriptions.
