See also Ethnologue, which fails to mention the Saratov Oblast, and has apparently made moves to classify Shoksha as its own language, since it claims that Erzya is only spoken in the north and east parts of the Mordovian Republic — the Shoksha are settled in the western part of what is known today as the Mordovian Republic.
