The workshop will be a full day meeting with the
participants actively taking part in the discussions and working groups.
The participants should submit position papers prior to the
workshop, and the presentations will be chosen by the Programme
Committee on the basis of the paper's potential to bring forward novel
aspects and solid view-points to the main topics. However, the workshop
will not take the form of presentation of these
papers. Rather it will consist of a series of activities that will
integrate the issues described in the position papers – people working
in groups according to their interests as expressed in the position
papers.
We welcome submission
of papers describing theoretical and empirical contributions on the
workshop topics. Papers should describe ideas as well as
practical experience on project implementations, and we also encourage
presentation of contraversial, even provocative arguments so as to promote
discussion. Possible demos can be associated with the
papers if desired, given the presenters bring their own laptop.
The papers
must be no longer than 4 pages. In addition to this, two
additional pages are allowed as an appendix which may include
extended examples, algorithms, graphical representations, etc.
Papers should
be sent electronically to the e-mail address:
interspeech06-dod@helsinki.fi
Papers must be
submitted in pdf format, and must be received no later than
April 30.
The submission format for papers is the same as for Interspeech
submissions.
Instructions as well as Word templates and Latex sources are
available at:
http://www.interspeech2006.org/
All accepted
papers will be published in the workshop website. Other
publication channels will also be explored for extended papers after the
workshop (a book, Special
Issue).
