Registration on spot starts at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2009, on the third floor of the University Main Building (entry from Fabianinkatu 33, one block north of the green circle on the map). All lecture halls are on the same floor.
In the lecture halls, there is an overhead projector, a data projector and a PC with standard MS Office programmes and memory stick outlets. If you need any other equipment, please let us know in advance (by e-mail to fgk at ling dot helsinki dot fi).
We kindly ask you to make copies of your handouts in advance. The total number of participants will be around 60, and for most of the time there will be two general sections running simultaneously.
Please remember that your presentation should not exceed 20 minutes (+10 minutes for discussion).
There will be an open book exhibition. We encourage you to bring copies of your or your close colleagues' latest publications. The book exhibition takes place near the registration desk on the third floor. Don't be modest and don't hesitate to bring your publications with you! The book exhibition will give us all a good possibility to learn more about current developments in the field.
On Friday evening, August 28, there will be a Reception and Cultural Programme at the Finnish Literature Society, Hallituskatu 1, sponsored by the Roma Art Center (Romanitaiteen keskus ry.), starting at 7 p.m.
The conference dinner on Saturday, August 29, will take place in restaurant Namaskaar, Mannerheimintie 100, starting at 7.30 p.m.
The conference fee (20 euros for full-time undergraduate and MA students, and Ph.D. students without salary or grant; 50 euros for others) is collected in cash upon registration. Late registration fees are 40 euros for students and 100 euros for others.
The fee for the conference dinner is 30 euros (also collected upon registration), not including drinks.
For more information, please visit our web site. If you have any questions, please do not reply to this message, but send them to the conference e-mail address (fgk at ling dot helsinki dot fi) instead.
Welcome to Helsinki!
Wishing you all a refreshing summer,
