  5. The range for use of the corpora covered by the licence:

    1. Research,
    2. Research and teaching,
    3. Research, teaching, and commercial language technological applications.

  6. The UNIX groups:

    1. (A) Department of General Linguistics + (a) the personnel of the Department of General Linguistics, researchers and teachers of the department + the topics of the use of the corpora = Aa1, Aa2, Aa3: li-a1, li-a2, li-a3.

      (A) Department of General Linguistics + (b) the personnel of the Department of General Linguistics, the researchers, teachers and students of the department + the topics of the use of the corpora = Ab1, Ab2, Ab3: li-b1, li-b2, li-b3.

    4. Unix groups

    5. (C) Department of General Linguistics: the owner or the representative of the owner of the corpus must be informed on the computer account + the personnel of the Department of General Linguistics, researchers, teachers and students of the department, and the other users of the corpora + the topics of the use of the corpora = Cc2: lipr-c2.

Unix groups: the corpora are available for all the users who have a computer account for the use of a single corpus / of the corpora located at the directory.

    6. (D) Another linguistic department + (a) the personnel of the department, and researchers and teachers of the department + the topics of the use of the corpora = Dna1, Dna2, Dna3:

    7. Unix groups

    8. The administrative groups working with the corpora on the UHLCS: li-adm.

  7. The users' licences (computer accounts)

  8. The application of the user's licence which gives the right to use the electronic data at the UHLCS is sent to the CSC (see the link below). From the CSC, the application form is distributed automatically further as follows: (1) the application forms for the use of the corpora in groups A and C are sent to the University of Helsinki, Department of General Linguistics, (2) the application forms which concern the use of the corpora belonging to group B are sent to the University of Helsinki, Department of General Linguistics, and to the Research Institute for the Domestic Languages in Finland, and (3) when the corpora belong to the group D, the application form is sent from the CSC to the representative of the data owner (to the Department of the Slavonic and Baltic Languages and Literatures (= ld1), to the Department of Scandinavian Languages and Literature (= ld2), and to the Institute for Asian and African Studies (= ld3)). When the computer accounts concern the use of the corpora which belong to the group C, the administration of the CSC has to inform the owners or the representatives of the owners of the corpora on the new user's licence. When a new computer account application is accepted by a representative of the UHLCS, the administration of the CSC prepares the computer account and informs the user about the licence.
