The Linguistic Association of Finland organises symposia, workshops and courses on current issues in linguistics.


Previous events include:

Every year in connection with the annual business meeting of the Association, a guest lecture is organised. In 2001 the talk was given by Professor Michael Tomasello (Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, Leipzig). In 2002 the association celebrated it's 25th aniversary by organizing a symposium on Case

Another yearly tradition is that the Association organises discussions at the Finnish Conference of Linguistics. In 1999 the discussion was on linguists' job opportunities, in 2000 on the linguistic situation of Arctic minorities, in 2001 on polyphony of the linguistic research in Finland, an in 2002 on Time and Language.
