This web page describes the special version of CLT120 that is
taught exceptionally this year in Period 1 as a "transition course"
for students taking CLT237 Programming and Natural Language Processing 1.
These students did not study CLT120 Introduction to NLP last year
(because it did not exist last year).
New students should take the normal version of CLT120
that will be taught in Period 4.
The course consists of web-based learning materials for each week,
plus weekly practical exercises and a series of practical
assignments. Instead of lectures the teacher will run regular

the assignments. You can ask the teacher to explain more about the
web-based materials, and you can get help with specific problems.
You can pass the course by completing the assignments. Attendance at
the support sessions is not obligatory, but is recommended.
