Kurssikuvaus

Esitiedot:

• Knowledge of Java programming
• Knowledge of XHTML, XML, and XML Schema (for example, ctl230)
• Experience in using open source Java software (for example, clt262).
• Experience with GATE, WordNet, and SQL is useful (for example, clt262).

Tavoitteet:

• The Semantic Web extends the World Wide Web with machine-readable metadata and ontologies to support improved searching and inferencing. Students will learn the key technologies and languages of the Semantic Web, and will build a small ontology. The course also explores the relationship between the Semantic Web and language technology, with practical work in ontology localization (into Finnish) and ontology verbalization.
